Nostalgic memories provide comfort, something we can look back on when facing a loss. ‘The Home of Nostalgia’ is a high-end interiors collection taking influence from textures and landscapes which have been captured through the photography of "home". This collection aims to recreate the calming atmosphere that such environments emit, with a focus on soft colours and natural fibres to encourage feelings of comfort in the home. The final collection consists of both hand and digitally woven techniques using a combination of texture and pattern, creating a cohesive collection suitable for my intended market and application. Working on industry live briefs, set by Sanderson Design Group and Line Nilsen, I have gained valuable experience, as well as being awarded a scholarship by The Worshipful Company of Weavers, which has allowed me to experiment with new fibres such as Merino. Looking ahead, I am keen to utilise my existing knowledge to develop my skills within the textile industry.
