Hannah Dumm
I have a passion for historical and fantasy costuming in both stage and screen, and love using costume to analyse and interpret character. During my time at university, I have refined my research, design and construction skills, but have also discovered a love for millinery. I have experience designing and making for theatre, as well as working as a wardrobe assistant and dresser. I also completed a millinery internship which provided the opportunity to dedicate myself to new, specialist skills. I am reliable, motivated, and eager to gain more experience in the costume industry. For my final year I adapted the 'Hetty Feather' books for theatre, focusing on historical silhouette and impact for stage. My self-directed project is a film adaptation of 'The Cruel Prince', using the books’ vivid descriptions to support my character design, and returning to my textiles background to create intricate detail and embellishment for the character Queen Orlagh.
