Mª Isabel Delgado Castillo
Hi, I'm Maribel and I have always wanted to create my own staple as a costume designer. I am an Andalucian woman, passionate about folklore and the traditions I was brought up with. Spanish traditional clothing is very underrated by modern youth and it would be a shame if it were to disappear. Fortunately, it is being popularised again by pop culture and I aim to create a brand that reimagines and modernised Spanish traditional garments. This is showcased by my 'Te Venero' project, turning the Spanish religious influences into a fashion garment for a pop culture music video of a famous Spanish singer, C. Tangana. Generally speaking, I love big events, particularly music events, regardless of their theme. For my Element 1 project I designed a big-scale performance - an Ashnikko concert at Nottingham Arena. I pride myself in the capability to learn new skills fast and my adaptability to any field so I made a light-up robot costume to fully showcase my wide range of skills.
