Lucy May Vardy

I'm Lucy, a final year BA (Hons) Fine Art student. My practice explores quiet happenings and the connection between humans and the mundane. Through sculpture, installation, and painting, I give abandoned or overlooked elements a renewed sense of devotion, inviting appreciation for the familiar. Rooted in process, my work is driven by making, experimenting, and close observation. I collect materials and moments that may lie dormant until they're unearthed. Over time, I've seen my practice and self as seamlessly intertwined - even the smallest routines hold weight, shaping who I am. I’m interested in the quiet rituals that underpin daily life - behaviours that sustain us, often unnoticed, until their absence is felt. These themes of subtle repetition and habit form the backbone of my work. Being a student at NTU has shaped my craft and my security within the art scene. After university, I hope to continue my studio practice and work closely with the creative community in Nottingham.
