My name is Anna Casalini and I am a graduate of MA Fashion Knitwear at Nottingham Trent University. With a background in fashion design, I have previously worked in an Italian knitwear company as a junior knitwear specialist. I decided to complete a specialist MA programme in fashion knitwear to expand my knowledge and become a master of knitwear with the opportunity to focus on programming (Shima/Stoll). I was also selected as one of the finalists of the Shima Competition, winning two weeks’ training at the Shima Seiki Europe in England. Within the industry I have worked at Maglificio FMF, an Italian knitwear manufacturer which produces garments for big brands and private clients internationally. My role consisted of following the entire process of a knitwear garment, from the first sample until the final realisation of it; considering also the choice of yarns, stitches and structures to meet the specific requirements of the clients.
