During my time at NTU studying MA Animation, I have been honing my 3D modelling skills and developing my portfolio. For my first project, I took inspiration from tarot cards, designing and modelling a character for a card redesign. As well as researching tarot cards, I drew from multiple other sources such as haute-couture fashion, flower language, astrology and the Symbolist art movement. My final project focuses on characters suitable for children’s animation, one of the largest aspects of the UK industry; this project took inspiration from animation giants such as Pixar and Studio Ghibli to ensure my portfolio has mainstream appeal along with my more artistic pieces. After finishing the course, I am hoping to begin a career in the industry as a 3D artist and continue to grow both my skills and network.
