Faeryn Baldwin

I am an artist and writer based in the West Midlands. Currently a final year BA (Hons) Fine Art student, my practice exists as an investigation of the human consciousness. Working with poetry, photography and print, my fantastical documentations seek to make sense of my physical reality as a woman living with chronic dissociation. In my imagery, I combine the dream-like surrealism of theatrical iconography and the veiling abstraction of pop art to represent my mystical detachment from reality. My writing acts as an archive of my boundless consciousness, awash with esoteric symbolism. These two facets of my practice work together to examine the deepest nuances of the human condition, the chameleonic nature of identity and the subliminal transcendence of dreams, as the audience are invited to ponder on the nature of reality itself. I am now working on an anthology amalgamating my poetic and visual investigations, and intend to soon undertake a postgraduate course in creative writing.
