My practice consists of painting with mixed media with a focus on figurative and surrealist themes to communicate dreamlike scenes and feelings of curiosity towards the human relationship with reality and sense of self. I am interested in inspecting the big questions through my work, creating made up scenes that feature figures that passively exist in these other worldly planes, bringing forward questions such as who we are, how we got here, is there a divine existence or something else? In this regard I am influenced by themes present in Alchemy and Mysticism and aspects of spirituality, making my work quasi-religious and sometimes allegorical. Some of my inspiration comes from my own dreams, experiences, or landscapes I have seen while traveling as a child with my parents. First using composite imagery and sketches to initially plan out my pieces, I then had a loose and layered approach to painting, which is concluded with final sketchy details.
