I am a BA (Hons) Fine Art student at Nottingham Trent University. My art practice focuses on the interaction between my hands and the materials. Sculpting is my form of therapy, it allows me to ground myself, heal and then I encapsulate the moment or feeling within that sculpture. Mold-making and casting is a very important part of the process as it freezes and captures the initial and malleable state. All my sculptures have a different symbolic meaning, and they always create a safety net to capture these feelings. My degree showcase 'Always Moving' is a collection of these sculptures and casts on a made flatbed trolley. It creates an overwhelming anxiety due to how much trust I have put on the trolley. They could get knocked off and break. Hopefully you’ll hold a select few of the sculptures causing you to only focus on that sculpture. When sculpting, I focus on the gestures and work through the feeling. My future goal is to help people and eventually complete my masters.
