I am a final year BA (Hons) Textile Design student specialising in weave. As a fashion enthusiast and having a background in fashion design as well as learning how to produce fabrics from scratch and yarn to a woven surface all encouraged me to leave home and study textiles at Nottingham Trent University. I've always been pretty good with hands-on, tedious work. My collection is titled '(dis)FIGURED' and is a reflection of my strongest traits as a designer, being detail-oriented and patient on my woven surfaces. Distort yarns strand by strand and experimenting with unconventional materials to produce an avant-garde fashion collection. As for future plans, I am planning to stay here in the UK in order to gain experience in the fashion and/or textiles industry in order to obtain insight of starting my own business back in Malaysia.
