Charlotte Wootten
My graduate collection explores the adventures of the coastline, showing the hidden depths of elegance through the curling of the spiral shells and shiny speckles of gems and glass reflecting the sunlight creating hidden mysteries beneath the surface of the sand. Eroded strata and ragged rocks foretell a powerful prediction of the future of the crumbling coastline and the effects of climate change and the destruction on our planet. My work is often multi-disciplinary and I’m passionate about texture, colour and the importance of sustainability. This is aimed at the artisan market promoting value and craftsmanship, combining naturally dyed fabrics with hand, machine and digitalised embroidery, print, biomaterials and laser cutting. I am enthusiastic about embroidery and embellishment and I am eager to further my knowledge within the textile and fashion industry.
