'Lotus' is a comforting and empowering woven installation encompassing everything feminine, inspired by enchanting tales of Greek tragedy and heroism, flora symbolism and female form through drapery and natural forms. This installation envelopes you and explores the balance of contradiction, the strength of vulnerability. Nothing excites me more than the process of creating cloth, pick by pick, seeing yarns interlock to create textured maps. My work focuses on freeform linear structures, that lend a life to the yarn and cloth produced. Women’s welfare is at the forefront of my project, by providing available charities. I have gained experience in interior furnishings whilst working to a live brief set by Line Nilsen. Succeeding graduation, I plan to further my studies in a Masters degree in Textile Design as well as studying to become a freelance artist.
