Louise Perkins-Chapman
I’m a BA (Hons) Fashion Design student specialising in inclusive womenswear and print. I have a passion for functional female design and hyper-feminine British heritage aesthetics, inspired by extravagant race dressing and royal fashion. My final year fashion collection is a formal wear capsule wardrobe, size-inclusive, adaptive, and skin soft, addressing a gap in the market for skin sensitivity and clothing wear-ability. Having suffered from psoriasis and struggled with clothing irritation, I decided to design a collection with breathable, hypo-allergenic, super soft, non-toxic printed fabrics, aiming to relieve skin discomfort—whilst including bold aesthetics, signature florals, stripes, colours, and finishes. As the daughter of an army officer, I grew up surrounded by tailoring, which I reworked into my collection for a personal touch. I have a real passion for adaptive design and bold bespoke prints, an area I’m looking to progress in the industry within a womenswear department.
