I’m Martha Wigley, a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. Through my final year project, I have focused on womenswear by challenging femininity and "un-ladylike" attributes. My collection assembles ideas of blasphemous and punk inspired print, alongside using second-hand fabrics to showcase that ideas of rebellion within womenswear, is everlasting. My enthusiasm towards fashion has developed by gaining experience using machinery, print and embroidery techniques, as well as discovering my love for illustration and research. By having several jobs throughout university, I was able to focus on timekeeping, reliability, and furthering my professionalism. My passion for working alongside like-minded designers continued through my placement at River Island, where I was able to showcase my knowledge and creativity within a team. After graduating, I hope to continue developing and challenging my design skills, through working in design houses where my abilities can excel.
