Creative arts has long been a passion of mine. I chose to study drama, textiles and fine art throughout my educational journey. Inevitably sparking a passion for Costume. I am now a final year student in BA (Hons) Costume Design and Construction. I’ve thrived from learning so many new skills; from millinery to leatherwork. The two projects shown are my pantomime 'Buttons' and 'video game holiday resort Sadie Adler' characters. They both involved a lot of trial and error, sampling and experimentation, however I happily developed old and new skills in the process. For example I researched and learned about leatherwork and hand embossing to construct Sadie Alder’s holsters and gun belt and revisited printing skills to Lino print Buttons’ fabrics. I have five years of experience volunteering at my local amateur theatre in Yorkshire, both performing and wardrobe. After graduating I hope to work within construction and making of costumes in theatre and make a living doing something I love.
