I’m a Hong Kong-born artist currently based in Nottingham, UK. I’m in my final year of studying Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, where I focus mainly on oil painting. My work is deeply inspired by film, particularly Hong Kong films, and more specifically the film noir and thriller genres. I use light, shadow, and strong tonal contrasts to create a sense of tension and emotional intensity in my paintings. Portraiture often lies at the core of my practice, allowing me to explore psychological depth and human vulnerability. Through my work, I aim to raise questions about moral ambiguity and emotional conf lict, encouraging viewers to ref lect on the narratives behind each image. I’ve taken part in several group exhibitions within my university, and I’m continuing to build a body of work that blurs the line between film and fine art.
