Emma Dereve
I’m Emma, a BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. I love being a creative student and my passions lay in archives and using historical references to build upon my own creative practice. My initial research was based on Britishness as my concept centres on this idea of different versions of femininity throughout British history and has incorporated a lot of historically factual references. Before university I completed a diploma in garment technology giving me prior knowledge of garment construction. During my time at NTU I was one of two offered a placements with AllSaints after winning an accessory design challenge and completing an industry project for them. More recently this year I was a one of fourteen finalists to qualify for the Untagged X GFF competition and one of five winners for the Mother of Pearl X Tencel X GFF competition. Both competitions mean I get to be a part of separate Graduate Fashion Week events showcasing my work alongside all the other entries.
