My project “Peace in Solitude” explores themes of protection and comfort, and how we can find peace in our own company. I am a menswear designer who likes to bring feminine elements into my designs. I have done this through my use of fabric, satin, shirred lace, and through silhouette. Within the collection there is volume, oversized silhouettes, and extra long sleeves, as I wanted to convey the sense of comfort. I have a great interest in tailoring which I focused on more within this collection. A lot of attention was placed on small details and trims, which were made from left over fabric. By keeping the majority of my collection black, I ensured that the pieces can be interchanged with one another. I have also included pieces which can be layered, to further expand the wearability of my collection.
