My final collection, 'Pieces', explores the concept of creating sustainable solutions in response to textile waste and environmental issues within the fashion industry through innovative garment design and the creation of new fabrics using existing materials. Multi-functional garments are adorned with grungy abstract prints, created through experimentation with alternative and non-traditional drawing techniques, inspired by abstract artists and punk-influence designers such as Vivienne Westwood. My interest in sustainability surpasses just my design process, being the owner of a small sustainable clothing and accessories business, Aniela Designs. This year, I successfully competed in the live Burton Menswear Brief, placing first runner-up with my printed shirt collection and am seeking to forge a career in the fashion and textiles industry upon graduation.
