Fragments of Elsewhere is a playful home and garden collection inspired by nostalgic holiday and travel memories. My work draws from Mediterranean tiles, flora and traditional techniques, influenced by my personal travel experiences. One particularly impactful memory was scuba diving, which led me to focus on ocean conservation. A key process is block printing, used to create bold repeat patterns informed by traditional methods. By utilising my CAD skills, I combine digital design with physical printing to maintain a tactile, handmade quality. Fragments of Elsewhere captures the excitement and freedom of escaping everyday life, translating this feeling into textiles through vibrant colour and illustrative prints. During my degree, I gained valuable experience through live briefs with Ashley Wilde, collaborating with other students and developing my printmaking skills. My work reflects my belief in not taking everything too seriously, resulting in bright, playful and maximalist design.
