Inspired by the beauty in darkness, my collection follows my passion for nature and wildlife by looking at the less desirable aspects and turning them into something beautiful. I have been inspired by the aesthetic of Tim Burton in my collection, as well as the Alnwick Poison Garden and the taxidermy collections in museums. My vision for my collection is items I believe The Addams Family members would own if they lived in modern society. My graduate collection ‘Embracing the Darkness’ is a woven home interiors and wall hangings collection aimed at promoting individuality and uniqueness in my designs. I have explored recreating the fascinating textures in nature through hand woven techniques, Jacquard and tc2 designs, as well as knit design.
