Hi, I’m Isabel, a woven textile designer, with a key aspiration within the interior market. I have a strong passion for weaving with a huge enjoyment for the technical process. My graduate collection ‘Tidal waves’ is rooted in the emotional connection we have to the coast. This collection looks at the deep sense of longing to be back by the coast, drawing inspiration from my time spent by the seaside during my placement year and the nostalgia I have to be back there. University and my year on placement have enriched me with handweaving skills, jacquard techniques, and industry processes. My ambition to work within the industry has been amplified through the success in the Paul Vogel competition, winning first place and receiving recognition with a commendation from the Weavers’ Company Scholarship Award for Excellence.
