Esme Harker

I am a print specialist textile design student with a passion in retro aesthetics, tactile designs, collaging techniques and bringing elements into cad to create artwork. My project ‘Check in’ aims to entice people into the realm of escapism of a 1970s hotel, through a maximalist approach using prominent colours, bold textures and large-scale designs. My main inspiration throughout designing are the Memphis movement, brutalist architecture and a love for geometrics. Using a multimedia approach incorporating jacquard weaving, laser cutting and mixed media designs, creating an interior collection encouraging people to embrace nostalgic fun and enjoyment among escaping.
