I am a textile designer specialising in embroidery. My collection, SÉRÉNITÉ, explores the relationship between textiles and emotional wellbeing within interior spaces, encouraging moments of stillness and comfort in everyday life. Inspired by natural landscapes and mixed media processes, my work experiments with layered materials, natural textures and soft colour palettes to evoke a sense of calm for both mind and body. Through combining industrial, domestic and hand embroidery techniques alongside weave and print, I have developed textiles suitable for soft furnishings, wall hangings and wallpapers for the home. Through these processes I aim to highlight the importance of textiles as a tool for emotional wellbeing, suggesting that everyone should have access to calming and restorative environments within their homes. In the future, I hope to work within the textile industry focusing on colour and material design for interiors.
