Amy Holmes

Rooted in memories of the Cornish coastline, my work explores the emotional and sensory connection between people and nature through biophilic design. Inspired by windswept beaches, coastal flora, and shifting tides, I translate these landscapes into expressive watercolours and large-scale paintings, rich in texture and movement. My practice combines traditional hand-painting with digital development, allowing me to create versatile designs for interiors including fabrics, wallpapers, and ceramics. I have a particular interest in organic materials and the role of design in supporting wellbeing, focusing on tactility, colour and atmosphere. My experience includes winning the Ashley Wilde live brief and completing an industry placement, strengthening my understanding of commercial design. I am a collaborative, curious designer who thrives on experimentation, bringing a thoughtful yet playful approach to contemporary interior textiles.
