Navigating through life as someone with a dual heritage has shaped my approach as a designer, offering differing viewpoints from which I create my pieces. Consequently, my projects often tell stories in celebration of my West African culture, whilst fused with inspiration from Western influences. Through print, silhouette, and texture I experiment with what it means to take two entirely separate concepts and integrate them into harmonious conclusions. Upon the completion of my three work placement jobs, ranging from bridalwear (at Halfpenny London and Studio Ellis) to everyday womenswear (at Because Of Alice) I have refined skills such as pattern cutting and manufacture through my role as a Product Developer, trend forecasting as a Styling and Sales associate and technical accuracy as a Garment Technologist. This honed skillset alongside my versatility, has resulted in me being selected as one of the three designers representing NTU in the Talent of Tomorrow competition.
