Grace Blake

I am currently in my final year of studying BA Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University. My final major project, 'Canary in a coal mine', encapsulates the skills I have developed in pattern drafting, garment construction and design communication. My designs integrate traditional functionality with influences from streetwear, minimalism, and utilitarian aesthetics. I am particularly interested in fashion illustrating as well as utilising my illustrations through print and textile design. By taking influence from the industrial heritage of my hometown in Yorkshire, my designs encourage the wearer to value the traditional purpose of workwear whilst maintaining personal style. In my future I would like to pursue my interest in illustration and concept development, specifically regarding menswear and unisex designs. I would like to continue building a distinctive visual identity that reflects my design values and goals.
