I am Anvi Banka, a final-year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student at Nottingham Trent University, from India. My practice explores contemporary resort wear as a reflection of my personal growth, shaped by travel experiences from places I’ve visited since childhood. I’ve worked with innovative materials such as bio-leather brewed from coffee, paired with recycled coconut buttons and sheer fabrics, aiming to create garments that feel refined and wearable. My designs focus on adaptability, challenging the idea of disposable “pre-vacation” shopping by creating pieces that can be styled in different ways. Travel elements like postcards, stamps, and luggage silhouettes inform my embroidery details. I would love to take every opportunity to work and gain hands-on experience, with brands like Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham. For me, learning while creating value matters the most. And I hope to gain experience before making a considered decision about building my own brand and community.
