My name is Ruby Scott, and I'm an undergraduate BA (Hons) Fine Art student. My work focuses on portraiture, mainly using oil and acrylic paint to depict my closest friends, who inspire me daily. Being constantly surrounded by them brings a chaotic yet fulfilling energy to my practice. For me a single photo with a story to it, narrating a quiet conversation or a sly glance, is enough to spark inspiration for a painting. I aim to capture the full range of human emotion, finding beauty in the simplicity of everyday life. Through a blend of semi-abstract and realistic styles, I've developed a unique approach which I'm excited to expand on. Looking forward my goal is to build a large body of work, offering different narratives and stories each time. I want to continue to build my confidence so that I can create bigger and bolder paintings. I’d also love to start selling my paintings, curate exhibitions, and offer commissions to create lasting memories for others.
