Megan Donegan

I am a BA (Hons) Fashion Design student at Nottingham Trent University, where my work is deeply rooted in feminism and historical events. My creative process is driven by a desire to express strong personal views, particularly around women’s issues in society. I believe fashion is not just a medium of self-expression, but also a powerful platform to spark conversation, tell stories and inspire change to both customers and viewers. Throughout my studies, I’ve explored themes of female empowerment through projects that combine both thoughtful designs with meaningful concepts. From reinterpreting the suffragette movement in my second year project to my current final collection, which draws inspiration from 1960s womenswear, my designs celebrate the strength and resilience of women across history. Prior to university, I was the head of my sixth form’s debate team, which improved my confidence in speaking up and standing for what I believe in, something that continues to inform my work today.
