I’m a final year student studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design. Through my studies I have refined my work to create wearable stories that show pieces of my life. My final collection is titled Burgstrain and looks at the idea that people strive for individuality in cities, taking inspiration from my transition of London to Nottingham and exploring topics like body modifications, such as tattooing and the idea of people using ‘masks’ for the world to see. My strengths include being able to react quickly to my research, creating exceptional experimentation with sampling and reaching out to others to collaborate. On my course I have learnt the importance of the environment and how working in sustainable practices is not only achievable but crucial for the new generation and the world. Within my journey I have used fashion to acknowledge hard topics that are then portrayed in my specific creative style, such as loneliness, mental health and environmental crisis.
