My practice explores the human impulse to domesticate nature within the home through decorative motifs, wallpaper, and ornamentation. Inspired by the Baroque period and historical wallpaper design, I use print, paint, and photography to create visually intricate images that blend beauty with the typically unseen nature of animals. I am passionate about the portrayal of animals in their most natural state, exploring ways in which i can make their brutality appear beautiful and reflecting the depictions often seen in the home. Currently I am pushing my work towards digital concepts to aid my painting, along with immersing myself within nature to capture tender moments of the animals I admire.
