I’m Josie Baxter, a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. My womenswear collection is rooted in the concept of dark romance, exploring the beauty found in fading moments wilted flowers, lost love, and the emotional traces left behind. I’m fascinated by the tension between fragility and strength. Inspired by dying blooms and nostalgic relationships, I create pieces that feel intimate and poetic, with silhouettes that echo vintage forms but are reimagined with a contemporary edge. Fabrics are carefully chosen to evoke mood: delicate lace, sheer overlays, distressed textures layered to suggest both vulnerability and depth. I’ve chose to include dead stock fabric to ensure my collection is made from sustainable materials and I want each garment to be one of a kind—designed to be treasured, worn, and kept forever, aging gracefully over time until it carries the same sense of faded beauty as the dying flowers that inspired it.
