I’m Holly Howarth, a Fashion Knitwear and Knitted Textiles student at Nottingham Trent University with a love for colour, pattern, and all things nostalgic. My work celebrates the joy and innocence of childhood, especially that Friday trip to the sweet shop after school! My collection, ‘Silly and Sweet’ draws inspiration from the playful patterns of my youth, such as stripes, polka dots, and lots of gingham! I also explore fun, wearable accessories like oversized scrunchies and statement collars to blur the lines between childhood and adulthood, inviting everyone to reconnect with their inner child. Throughout my studies I’ve discovered a passion for kidswear, where I have thrived creatively, expressing my love of colour and pattern. The quirky nature of kidswear complements my design style, and has inspired me to push the boundaries of playfulness in womenswear. I want my work to be bold, light-hearted, and full of character- designed to spark joy and a sense of nostalgia.
