“Chaaya” is a fashion concept that explores the harmony between tradition and modernity by fusing the elegance of Indian saree drapes with the bold structure of Western silhouettes. As an international student from India pursuing BA (Hons) Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University, I bring a unique cross-cultural lens to my work. My design journey is shaped by a rich background in Indian textile heritage, dance, and visual arts—ranging from mandalas to pastel paintings—which fuels my creative process. With professional training in Hip Hop and a flair for baking, I embrace a hands-on, expressive approach to everything I do. My personality is a blend of discipline, curiosity, and passion, which reflects in the way I merge flowing drapes with western soft tailoring. Chaaya is not just a fashion line—it’s a narrative that empowers women to embrace both softness and strength.
