My collection explores feminism and the right of women to wear what they choose without fear of harassment or assault. I focus on draping within knitwear, integrating sustainability by using large rectangles and squares to create zero-waste garments. My design philosophy juxtaposes traditional knitwear—often seen as cosy and homely—with a sexy, sleek aesthetic. I experiment with openwork knitting techniques to explore how fabric drapes around the body. My work aims to redefine the perception of knitwear, celebrating both structure and sensuality. My future aspirations is to work in a commercial knitwear company and bring my design philosophy to the commercial work because from my knowledge there is a gap in the market for sensual knitted dresses. I am passionate, hard working and have a unique perspective on how we can bring sustainability into the commercial world using zero waste in all of my collection.
