I am a BA (Hons) Costume Design and Construction student at Nottingham Trent University. My work explores costume within the film industry, with a focus on historical and fantasy productions. I have enjoyed exploring a wide range of historical time periods during my time at University, from the medieval era to the early 20th Century. Through my two major projects The Night Circus and The Mists of Avalon, I have discovered a love of textiles within my costume work, exploring machine embroidery and hand pleating, using textiles to weave stories into my costumes. My design work focuses on detailed storytelling through costume, exploring the hidden narrative about characters that can be hidden within their costume. Alongside my studies I have had the opportunity to work within theatre and tv departments, gaining skills and experience as a maker and standby. I am looking forward to continuing to explore the many career paths within this industry.
