Lucy Withers
I am a final year BA Fine Art student at Nottingham Trent University, with a passion for creating bright and colourful artwork, including paintings, installation, sculpture and anything in between. My practice focusses on the formal elements and experimenting with different art mediums, such as plaster, spray paint and projection. As my art practice progresses I am looking to take it outside of a white walled gallery and use my skills and love of the outdoors to develop art and garden based community projects. I particularly want to focus on helping those in inner cities and those who may live in disadvantaged circumstances. Volunteering at the allotments for Emmanuel House Support Centre (supporting people who are homeless, sleeping rough in the streets, in crisis or at risk of homelessness in Nottingham) and at The Curious Tower (a community garden) has given me further inspiration and ideas on how I may be able to develop a safe creative hub for local communities in the future.
