Alice Watts
I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student, specialising in alternative contemporary lingerie designed to be worn and seen, not hidden. My work reflects values that are close to my heart. I use my passion for photography and graphic design to compile a unified body of work that represents me as a designer and creative. For example, by intensively researching kink communities for my dissertation and it's relationship to fashion. I have a deep connection to the values and importance these communities have, both past and present for creating safe spaces. Communities of trust, freedom, liberation, and expression. We owe a lot to these communities and their influence on fashion through history. It is important to remember where these influences came from. Using my research and creative practice I have created a lingerie product range 'Whore of Babylon' and a Zine 'Weeping Gimp' as my final outcomes.
