This project was inspired by alcohol. When I came to Nottingham, I found so many people like drinking; and how behaviour, speech and expressions become exaggerated and emotional. It makes me think that people are different when they are under the influence of alcohol, when I see everyone in the bar with a smile on their face, I would think are they all really happy inside? There are some people who use alcohol to numb themselves to escape reality. They may be having a bad time in reality, like a broken relationship, so they choose to drink to numb themselves and give themselves a brief moment of happiness, but deep down they are lonely and hurt, and this part of the population often goes unnoticed. So I wanted to focus on this segment of the population, targeting young women and designing a range of clothing for them.
