I am a MA Fashion Design student. My MA project is aimed at increasing flexibility for people who identify as men to wear both masculine and effeminate. My collection was inspired by a movie called 'Farewell My Concubine', a male actor that plays a female character in Chinese theatre, then after I read 'Men in Skirts'. I was also inspired by the history of men wearing skirts in ancient times. I extracted the colours and accessories from the film and used painting to design embroidery and prints. At the same time, the silhouette design was developed through the collage of men's clothing elements and women's clothing elements, and after the second research, it was redesigned with some elements from clothing elements of Ancient Rome, I also combined some streetwear elements into my design. After graduating, I’m looking to develop my industry experience in the fashion industry.
