I am Yihuan Wu, a final year BA (Hons) Theatre Design and Performance student at Nottingham Trent University. I began my studies in costume design during my first year before transitioning into Theatre Design and Performance, where I have developed a broader understanding of scenography and live performance. My practice is centred around visual storytelling within theatre, with a particular interest in costume design and its role in shaping character and narrative. Through my work, I explore how costume can express identity, emotion and atmosphere on stage. After graduating, I plan to continue my studies at postgraduate level and aim to become a female theatre or costume designer, contributing to more diverse and inclusive perspectives within the industry.
