My name is Sophie Payne, and I am currently in my final year studying Photography at NTU. My work focuses on fashion and identity, combining my models’ personal style with environments that are meaningful to them. My final project explores the idea of self-reflection, bringing together individual clothing choices and locations selected by each model. I enjoy creating a collaborative process, allowing my subjects to have a role in shaping the outcome, placing them at the centre of the work. This collaborative process allows my subject to move naturally as they are in an environment they are familiar with, enabling me to capture both their personal style and identity in one. Once I have graduated, I would like to work in assisting more photographers alongside continuing my freelance work. My long-term goal is to obtain a career in commercial photography, specialising in the production of advertising imagery.
