Saule Luneviciute

I am a final year BA (Hons) Fine Art student at Nottingham Trent University. My practice explores the concept of presence within absence, relating to the concept of hope, drawing inspiration from visits to Japanese temples and my family’s Japanese Buddhist beliefs. Through porcelain ceramics, I experiment with different techniques and create abstract forms that suggest a quiet and mysterious presence. I have curated several exhibitions during my studies, and I have developed an interest in curating a space that creates a dialogue with a thought-provoking and unknown feeling in the room. Having previously studied BA (Hons) Architecture, I developed a strong interest in conceptual idea, conceptual model-making and spatial flow, getting inspiration from artist such as Anish Kapoor. Following graduation, I aim to expand my ceramic practice into larger-scale conceptual projects, which combine both interests of Art and Architecture.
