Cultural Illusion | Shifted Identities” is a personal fashion narrative exploring identity through illusion, hybridity, and transformation. Originally from India, having grown up in Dubai and now studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University, my work is shaped by constant cultural shifts and the negotiation between belonging and self-perception. This journey informs my design process, where illusion is used not as decoration but to question how identity is constructed and fragmented. The project unfolds as a visual journey, from exploration and reflection to challenges, fragmentation, and regrowth, bringing out the hidden truth about perception vs reality. Over the summer, I gained hands-on industry experience across the full design and garment creation process, including styling and photoshoot. I see fashion as a space where illusion reveals rather than conceals the self. Looking ahead, I aim to work as a fashion designer, continuing to experiment and evolve.
