I am a painter. I use oils to recreate scenes within domestic and homely environments. I like to explore the relationship between people and aspects of their personal spaces, for example objects they own, the products they use and how they wish to present them. I am interested in how these personal spaces can characterise them without the person necessarily being physically portrayed within the painting itself. The subject matter tends to be a variety of still life and objects. I believe our belongings make us who we are to an extent and I find it interesting to explore deeper connections between ourselves and our surroundings.
