Whilst studying BA (Hons) Costume Design and Construction, I’ve loved developing skills in tutu making, breaking down, millinery, 3D Printing, corsetry and various embellishing techniques. Having started my university life studying Textiles Design, I have an extensive knowledge of textures and fabrics further enriching my approach to costume. My practice is rooted in detailed hand processes, including embroidery, beading, felting and lino print. Alongside my degree, my Miss Havisham costume has been selected as a finalist for the Costume Society Award. The piece explores themes of decay and memory through historical silhouette, layered textiles, and detailed breakdown, bringing the character’s narrative to life through material and form. Moving forward, I hope to work in the film industry, specialising in breakdown and historical costume. I am passionate about creating richly detailed garments, using embellishment and surface techniques to enhance character and storytelling on screen.
