I'm Verona, a costume designer and maker with a BA (Hons) Costume Design and Construction from Nottingham Trent University. I have always been driven by creativity- sketching in schoolbooks, crafting outfits for toys, and falling in love with costume the moment I received my first sewing machine at 12. I bring a wide range of skills, from sewing and hand embroidery to leather work, millinery and accessory making, with practical experience in historical garments such as corsets, kirtles, breeches and men’s tailoring. I am passionate about the storytelling power of costume and how history and world cultures shape identity. I love diving into research to uncover the tiny, authentic details that make a character real. With a background in realism drawing, I have a sharp eye for texture, proportion and detail. My dream is to work in film, collaborating with costume teams to create characters with authenticity, heart and imagination.
