Stephanie Tisseman

I’m a final-year BA (Hons) Costume Design and Construction student at Nottingham Trent University, with a background in garment construction through two summers at KA Wedding Alterations. There, I honed my sewing skills and developed a passion for collaborative making, which led me to pursue costume. I’m especially drawn to historical costume and fantasy storytelling, where creativity and detail take centre stage. In my second year, I explored millinery by creating a bonnet for a screen production of Little Women, which sparked a love for embroidery and intricate detail, leading to a summer opportunity in millinery. My final-year projects reflect this focus, celebrating rich textures and elaborate finishes. For my final project, I learned to knit on a domestic machine to create bespoke textiles for The Weaver, a character in an imagined screen production. I’m excited to continue exploring both screen and theatre costume, with a passion for storytelling through design.
