I am a final year BA (Hons) Costume Design and Construction student who takes great inspiration from fairytales, especially ones from my home country, Romania. I enjoy using bright colors when illustrating my designs and combining modern elements with historical ones. This can be seen in my final year projects which focus on revisiting fairytales with a modern audience in mind. Through my designs for "Ileana Sânziana and the Princess who would be a Prince", a retelling of a Romanian fairytale set in space, I explored gender, sexuality, and how our understanding of it differs from centuries ago when the story first appeared. After I graduate, I hope to keep designing fantasy stories, especially for children.
